Accountants play a pivotal role, whether it’s planning a merger or acquisition, auditing a pension plan, or uncovering a fraudulent insurance scam. Our accounting majors take a full range of courses including taxation, ethics, auditing, law, and can select electives such as financial fraud, international accounting, government and not-for-profit accounting, and other special topics. At York College, students can personalize their studies by selecting complementary minors in finance, information systems, or other areas of specialization. Upon graduation, students are prepared to pursue CPA licensure and certifications in internal auditing, management accounting, and fraud examination.
