Enrollment Handbook

Enrollment Handbook
2024-2025

Before you know it, you’ll be sitting in a York College classroom working on a hands-on research project. Or laughing with some new friends inside Sparts Den after a stop at our campus Starbucks. Maybe you’ll be cheered on (or doing the cheering) at a Spartan athletic event!

But first, we need you to complete some steps. College, you’ll find out, means you’re in charge of your education, and that starts with getting all the right forms filled out and steps completed.

Welcome to York College

Use our online handbook as a companion to the printed version, with links and additional resources.

Academics

Engineers are designing robots. Nurses are working in simulation labs to diagnose patients. Theatre students are directing plays. Sport Management students are running the fitness center. At York, your academic path won’t be littered with mindless hours staring at a computer screen and a textbook. We want you doing.

All About Money

Good news! We’re here to make a York College education as affordable as possible. Our Financial Aid Office oversees the process, which you’ll see outlined here. 99-percent of York College students use financial aid and scholarships, so you’re not alone.

Living and Commuting

When it comes to your ideal college life, where you live on campus (or how commuters are handled) might be as big a factor for you as academics. York College is a residential campus, meaning if you’re not a commuter, you will be required to live on campus. We offer modern living with apartments, houses, and suites for upper-level students as well as traditional residence halls. On campus, you’re never too far away from food, class, the fitness center, and more.

Campus Life

You didn’t apply to York College because you wanted to spend your college days doing nothing but going straight to and from class. You wanted more. If you look at our most successful students, they are the ones who get involved early, even if it’s just signing up for a club.
