Meet William Martin Sloane
Dr. Sloane spent 35 years on the staff of the General Assembly of Pennsylvania, including a session as Democratic Chief Counsel to the House of Representatives and as the caucus’s first Compliance & Ethics Director. He has served as a university administrator and has taught part-time at Atlantic University, Elizabethtown College, Millersville University, Mount Saint Mary’s University, Saint Francis University of Loretto, Shippensburg University, Temple University, Widener University Commonwealth Law School, and Wilson College. He is also the Presiding Bishop of the Southern Episcopal Church USA, a presbyter in the Anglican Church of North America, a priest in the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), and a lieutenant colonel and the Pennsylvania Wing Legal Officer in Civil Air Patrol (the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary).
Sloane was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in Education by Who’s Who in America. He is a Scholar of the Oxford Society of Scholars at Omega Graduate School; a Diplomate of the College of Mind-Body Medicine (AAIM); a Certified Master Chaplain (ABCMC); Board Certified in Professional Counseling (ABPC); a Certified Addictionologist (ACACD); Board Certified in Clinical Supervision (ACC); a Master of Medical Qigong (ECIMQ); an International Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (IC&RC); a Qigong Instructor Level I (NQA); and an Applied Psychoanalysis Professional (SMP). He has been admitted as a Fellow of five learned societies in the UK: the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce; the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland; the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland; the Royal Statistical Society; and the Royal Society for Public Health.
