Men's and Women's Swimming Team Earns End-of-Season Accolades

The York College Men’s and Women's Swimming team concluded their 2024 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championship meet on Feb. 18 at Graham Aquatic Center in York.

The Men’s Swimming team finished in third place among 12 teams, with outstanding performances by several swimmers. 

Sophomore Bryan Collins earned gold medals in the 50 free and 100 free (in a school record time of 46.33). He ended the championships with two individual golds, two relay golds, one silver relay finish, and one bronze relay placement. He also had a sixth-place finish for the Spartans in the 200 free. He was named the OSS Health Spartan Athlete of the Week on Feb. 19. 

First-year student Leo Ott won a gold in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:53.73. 

The Spartan men captured two relay titles as they won the 200 free relay for the second year in a row. They also won the 400 free relay as both victories came in school record time.

The Women’s Swimming team ended the championship in seventh place as they accumulated 494 points at the four-day championships.

Isabella Klemm finished with a win in the 200 IM, a second in the 100 breaststroke, and a third in the 200 breaststroke. She was also a part of four top eight relay teams during the championships.

Both the Spartan men and women were recognized as a College Swimming and Coaching Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All America team for the Fall 2023 semester.
