Enriching the lives of adults through educational, cultural, intergenerational, and social opportunities
Our lifelong learning initiative will provide accessible, intergenerational, educational, and social experiences for mature adults. These experiences enrich members’ intellectual, cultural, and social lives in a community-focused, member-driven environment.
This new effort is made possible through generous support and partnership from the York County Community Foundation’s Embracing Aging Initiative.
About our Program
Our Mission:
The initiative provides educational, social, travel, and volunteer experiences to enrich the lives of mature adults. With no homework, grades, or tests, the program offers a robust year-round schedule of non-credit courses that create intergenerational learning opportunities, benefiting both traditional YCP students and lifelong learning initiative members.
Our Vision:
Our vision is to create a community that promotes lifelong learning for mature adults, in support of YCP’s Center for Community Engagement (CCE) mission to serve as a bridge between the College and the surrounding community, establishing meaningful, mutually beneficial partnerships that tangibly improve the lives of people in York.
What We Do:
Lifelong learning at York College enriches the lives of adults through educational, cultural, intergenerational, and social opportunities that connect participants to the vibrant York College campus and student body. It will provide accessible lifelong learning, education, and social opportunities, as well as volunteer experiences, for mature adults, enriching their intellectual, cultural, and social lives in a community-focused, member-driven environment.
Our Partnerships:
Our program is supported by York College of Pennsylvania (YCP), The York County Community Foundation (YCCF)’s Embracing Aging Initiative, and the time and talents of dedicated volunteers.
