Meet Emily Connors
Emily J. Connors, MS, CTRS, CDP, CEE, CEA, is a nationally recognized leader in therapeutic recreation and person-directed long-term care. With over 25 years of experience, she brings a dynamic blend of clinical expertise, team leadership, and innovative program development to her work with individuals living in nursing homes, memory care, and personal care settings. As a Community Builder with The Eden Alternative, Emily trains and coaches care teams across the country, guiding them toward meaningful culture change and deeper resident engagement.
Emily holds a master’s degree in Gerontology—Management of Aging Services and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Certified Eden Educator, and Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. She is a sought-after speaker, educator, and advocate, having presented at numerous state and national conferences on topics ranging from aromatherapy to generational engagement and virtual reality in therapeutic settings.
Throughout her career, Emily has been known for her heartfelt commitment to eliminating loneliness, helplessness, and boredom in care environments. She brings both warmth and professionalism to her roles—whether leading a team, mentoring students, or consulting with long-term care communities. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for VOICE PA and the Community Action Team for Dementia Friendly York & Adams.
