Meet Tamara Schwartz
Dr. Tamara Schwartz, Lt Col, USAF (ret.) is an Associate Professor of Cybersecurity and Business Administration at York College of Pennsylvania and a Board Member of the Cognitive Security Institute. During her Air Force career, her thought leadership contributed to the stand-up of United States Cyber Command and informed the design of command centers supporting joint space, cyber, and global strategic operations. Her work at the U.S. Embassy in Amman, Jordan earned her the 2011 Information Operations Officer of the Year award.
Dr. Schwartz continues to support national security initiatives through her work with the “Dr. Evil Task Force,” advising the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and United States Strategic Command on emerging threats to strategic deterrence. In academia, she is the architect of York College’s human-centered cybersecurity management program, an effort that earned the 2025 Most Innovative Campaign to Increase Security Homeland Hero Award.
She holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Dayton, and a D.B.A. from the Fox School of Business at Temple University. Her research focuses on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity as a strategic competitive advantage, information warfare, and cognitive security.
