At York College of Pennsylvania, we believe that every Spartan's journey is filled with lessons worth sharing. As part of our Dear Spartan project, six graduating seniors — representing a wide variety of majors and experiences — wrote letters to future students, offering reflections, advice, and encouragement. Their words capture the heart of what it means to be a Spartan.

Dear Spartan,

As I get ready to graduate from York College, I have a few short pieces of advice as you begin your YCP journey.

  • Collaboration beats isolation—Each of us brings unique experiences and knowledge. By working together, we amplify our collective strengths.
  • Reserve your own judgment—Before accepting others' opinions, take time to review for yourself, think critically, and never stop asking why.
  • The pursuit of knowledge doesn’t end with graduation—Technological advancements drive continuous change. Stay ahead by committing to lifelong learning."

Thank you and best of luck. Go Spartans!

This is Part 4 of our six-part Dear Spartan series. Part 5 is written by Robert Fields, a Computer Engineering major.
