York College of Pennsylvania recently joined the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP), a national postsecondary education association focused on critical issues affecting allied health education. Dr. Emmanuel John, Dean of the Dr. Donald E. and Lois J. Myers School of Nursing and Health Professions, has been selected to participate in the Association’s 2023 Leadership Development Program.

First created in 2005, this prestigious program provides a broad spectrum of training opportunities for future Deans and leaders in health professions education. Modules will include management skills, budgeting and conflict resolution, among other administrative topics that are critical for successful leadership.

“ASAHP’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) is creating a pathway for faculty in health professions education to gain the leadership skills essential for future leaders and Deans,” said ASAHP President Deb Larsen PhD, FASAHP.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria; a Ph.D. in rehabilitation science from the University of Kansas Medical Center; a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Alabama State University, Montgomery; an MBA from Louisiana State University, Shreveport; and a Master of Public Health from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
