York College of PA to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week with May 3 talk on building resilience

York College of Pennsylvania will celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week from May 1 through 5 with a series of events, including a keynote by Dr. Aditi Nerurkar. She will discuss “Building Resilience in the Mind, Body, and Spirit” at 7 p.m., May 3, in Weinstock Lecture Hall, Willman Business Center. Her talk is open to the public free of charge.

Nerurkar is a physician, speaker, and correspondent with expertise in stress, resilience, burnout, and mental health. She is a lecturer at Harvard Medical School in the Division of Global Health and Social Medicine, and she serves as the co-director of the Clinical Clerkship in Community Engagement. She previously worked in global public health at the World Health Organization collaboration center in Switzerland, and as a medical director at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Nerurkar’s work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Oprah Magazine, and The Washington Post. She appears on-air as a medical commentator for MSNBC and NBC News, and is also a Forbes columnist. Her published research can be found in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Her recent talks have included Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit, the Harvard Business School Women’s Conference, and the keynote at Dell Technologies.
