York College’s Appell Arts Fellow Jeannine Dabb, a 2020 graduate of the College, will exhibit her work from June 2 through July 2 in Marketview Arts at 37 West Philadelphia Street, York. She will offer an artist talk via Zoom at 6 pm., June 2. The exhibition, titled “Fulcrum,” and the artist talk are open to the public free of charge.

"Between the pen and ink and the large-scale paintings themselves, this series of work features work in response to my year as the Appell Arts Fellow,” Dabb said. “I spent the past few years feeling as if I am balancing on the fulcrum, much like the 'rocking rider' who has emerged as the main subject of my show.”

A visual artist and resident of York, Dabb returned to college to study painting after 22 years as a small business owner in the medical aesthetics industry. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, specializing in painting and drawing, and is now serving as the 2021-22 Appell Arts Fellow at Marketview Arts. In 2019, three of her artworks were accepted into the York Art Association Forty-Ninth Annual Juried Exhibition. In February 2020 she won an Award of Distinction in Emerging Visions at Creative York, and she had her first solo show in July 2020 at The Grotto. Her work has also been featured in the York Fest Juried Show (Creative York) and the 2020 Annual Juried Student Exhibition at York College Galleries.
