York College offers incentives for students to visit campus, complete FAFSA by Jan. 15, 2023
September 14, 2022Because the campus visit is such an important part of the college search process, York College of Pennsylvania is offering an incentive for students to come to campus – including attending the Oct. 29 Open House – and to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
First-year students enrolling for the Fall 2023 semester who visit by Jan. 15, 2023 (virtual events are excluded), will earn $1,000 toward the cost of attendance, and those who complete the FAFSA by the same date will earn another $500. This grant is also being extended to students who visited campus on or after June 1, 2022. More information is available by contacting the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@ycp.edu.
“At York College, we want the campus visit to be accessible to all of our prospective students,” said Brian Hazlett, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “Our goal with this incentive program is to help make that possible.”
York College provides a number of campus visit opportunities, including Open Houses, Transfer Tuesdays, and Information Sessions and Campus Tours. Questions on these visit opportunities should be directed to the Admissions Office at admissions@ycp.edu or 717-849-1600.
York College’s next Open House is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 29. Open Houses are open to all students in high school as well as transfer students. Those who attend will have the opportunity to learn about the admission process, student life, and financial aid, and ask questions about what it really means to be a York College Spartan.
Transfer Tuesdays are designed specifically for students who attend or have attended another college and are looking to complete their degree at York College. Those who attend get a transfer-centric perspective of admissions, credits, financial aid, and scholarships. An optional campus tour is offered after the presentation. Two different sessions are available: each Tuesday at 11 a.m. on campus, and every other Tuesday at 3 p.m. virtually.
All are welcome to attend an Information Session and Campus Tour. These weekday and Saturday sessions consist of an overview of the College from the Admission team. A student ambassador guides attendees around campus and answers questions about life at York College, from playing varsity or club sports to living in a residence hall.
