York College of Pennsylvania has been recognized as a Military Friendly® School, earning a Silver designation in the Private Institutions Offering Doctorate category for 2026.

The College was also named a Military Spouse Friendly School, highlighting its commitment to supporting both service members and their families.

The Military Friendly® Schools designation is awarded to institutions that demonstrate strong support for the military community through meaningful education, resources, programming, and opportunities tailored to the unique needs of military-connected students.

“We are honored to be recognized as a Military Friendly® School,” said Dr. David Fyfe, Chair of the Military and Veterans Advocacy Committee at York College. “This designation reflects our ongoing commitment to creating an environment where veterans, active-duty service members, and their families feel valued and get the support they need to succeed academically and professionally.”

York College offers a range of resources to support veteran students. These include a veterans' lounge, designated parking, and priority course registration. The College also provides scholarship opportunities funded by alumni veterans to further support current students.

The Military and Veterans Advocacy Committee (MVAC) meets monthly to continually assess support for students associated with the military. In addition, York College recognizes student achievement through induction into the SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society each spring and supports the broader community by hosting an annual fall clothing drive for homeless veterans in York.

York College continues to expand its efforts to serve our active-duty and veteran population through classroom support, campus programs, and community partnerships that foster success.
