A new partnership between York College of Pennsylvania, Conewago Valley School District, and the Warehime Foundation is creating a new, life-changing opportunity for New Oxford High School students.

Starting this school year, two New Oxford High School students each year will have the opportunity to attend York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) on a full scholarship. Through the York College Community Opportunity Scholarship Program (YCCOSP), selected students will begin to engage with the college throughout high school, through academic year programs, and the summer “Jump Start” experience.  Those accepted to YCP will receive full tuition, room, and board to continue their studies after graduating from New Oxford.

"The opportunity to expand our highly successful YCCOSP program beyond York City to New Oxford is transformational both for York College and this new group of students,” said Dr. Brian Hazlett, Vice President for Enrollment at York College. “The program and scholarship can open doors that might otherwise remain closed, allowing students to pursue their goals without the burden of financial barriers."

“We are deeply grateful to the Warehime Foundation for their vision in suggesting that we expand the program beyond York City, and for making this expansion possible through their generosity,” said Dr. Glenn Miller, Vice President for Advancement at York College.

This new scholarship partnership is complemented by the introduction of YCP’s College in the High School program at New Oxford High School. The program allows eligible students to enroll in York College-approved courses taught at their high school, earning both high school and college credit while preparing for the rigors of higher education.

Conewago Valley School District Superintendent Dr. Sharon Perry said the district is excited about the opportunities this collaboration provides: “Both of these programs and this partnership with York College gives our students a unique advantage. It’s an investment in their future and a tremendous benefit to our community.”

Oliver Hoar, a Trustee of the Foundation, says, “The Warehime Foundation is proud to support this partnership. We are honored to help make higher education more accessible for New Oxford students. We have seen the tremendous success of YCCOSP for York City students and are excited to help fund this expansion. At the core of the Warehime Foundation’s mission is helping people live up to their fullest potential. Taking YCCOSP to New Oxford  will help do just that.”

The YCCOSP partnership marks a significant investment in the future of New Oxford students, opening doors to a college education that might otherwise feel out of reach for some. By combining academic preparation in high school and the opportunity for a full scholarship at York College, this partnership ensures deserving students have the support, resources, and opportunities to thrive. It is a commitment not only to individual student success, but also to strengthening the Conewago Valley community for generations to come.
