After Hours and Emergency Care
Should you need after hours or emergency care, you’re in good hands. For minor illnesses and injuries, get care quickly at one of WellSpan’s urgent care locations. For emergencies, WellSpan York Hospital is within walking distance from campus, located at the intersection of South George St. and Country Club Rd. Please call Campus Safety at 717.815.1314 or 9-1-1 if you need immediate emergency care. Not sure which option is right for you? MyWellSpan Patient Portal
A MyWellSpan account lets you access your health information and better manage your care online from a computer, tablet or smartphone—anywhere, anytime—through our secure patient portal. You can choose to add a proxy—like a parent or guardian—to help you.
WellSpan Student Health at York College Information and Resources
Does WellSpan Student Health at York College offer over-the-counter medications and prescriptions?
Some common over-the-counter medications and first aid supplies, such as ibuprofen, cough drops and bandages are available at WellSpan Student Health at no cost to the student. Other medications are provided for a nominal fee. Students can also obtain a prescription for required medications to take to a pharmacy after a visit. WellSpan Student Health cannot fill prescriptions from outside physicians.
Can York College provide me with transportation to WellSpan Student Health or other medical facilities if I’m unable to walk or drive, or if I have no other means of transportation?
Students who become ill or injured on campus and desire to come to Health Services but are unable to walk or drive to the Student Union Building, may call Campus Safety at 717.815.1314 for transportation.
Campus Safety may provide transportation for medical care (referrals, x-rays, hospital tests, and consultations) to York Hospital if no other means of transportation is available to the student. This service is not guaranteed, especially during inclement weather.
At times, when Campus Safety is not available for transport, transportation can be provided via ambulance.
Repeated appointments or care for chronic conditions requiring transportation off campus is the responsibility of the student.
If I seek health care services during class, am I excused?
The Health Center staff can verify your visit; however, they will not provide written excuses for missed classes. In one group email, please message your professor(s) and our office at WellSpanStudentHealth-YC@wellspan.org. to notify them of your absence. Health Center staff can only verify that you have been seen and will not disclose your diagnosis or reason for visit.
Residential students should report all illnesses and accidents occurring after hours to Residence Life staff, or the Department of Campus Safety.
Are my medical records confidential if cared for by WellSpan Student Health at York College?
WellSpan Health, through its affiliated entities and all its employees, medical staff and other personnel, is committed to protecting medical information about you. The HIPAA Privacy Rule provides federal protections for personal health information held by covered entities and gives adult patients an array of rights with respect to that information. At the same time, the Privacy Rule is balanced so that it permits the disclosure of personal health information needed for patient care and other important purposes. What costs are associated with care that I receive from WellSpan Student Health at York College?
WellSpan Student Health at York College does not charge for office visits. Some tests and services have a nominal fee.
When is WellSpan Student Health at York College open for care?
Our providers are available to care for students every Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., excluding Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Dec. 25-Jan. 1.
What options do I have for medical care when WellSpan Student Health at York College is closed?

Am I required to complete any medical forms prior to attending York College or to receive care while a student at York College?
Yes. The Student Medical Record is required for all students at York College and is completed using PyraMED, a student health portal. PyraMED is where WellSpan Student Health can collect your health forms needed to attend York College. WellSpan Student Health will also use this program to document the care you receive from WellSpan providers.
- Visit ycp.studenthealthportal.com or click on the PyraMED icon in your MyYCP portal.
- Log in with your YCP credentials.
- Click on the "Pending Forms" link. You will need to complete eight (8) electronic forms.
- Please read all directions for each online form. *Starred items are required. If they are not completed, a hold will be placed on your account.
- *Medical History - Enter your medical history; then upload your Physical Exam Form at the bottom of the online form.
- *Immunization History - Enter all vaccine dates; then upload your Immunization Record Form at the bottom of the online form.
- *TB Screening - If you answer “YES” to any of the questions on this form, you will need to complete the Positive TB Screening Form.
- Emergency Contacts - List someone we can contact in case of an emergency
- HIPAA Forms - Required to speak with someone other than the student regarding medical care
- Insurance Card - Upload a picture of the front and back of your medical insurance card
- COVID Immunization History - Only complete if you have a COVID-19 vaccine card.
- Communication Preferences - This is required to send appointment reminders and notifications of secure emails via SMS text message.
How to Access Your Physical and Immunization Forms
- Please use the printable forms found on this Health Services webpage, or in PyraMED under "Related Links," to take to your medical provider for completion.
- York College will not accept any other forms or documentation.
- Your medical provider must complete the YCP Physical Exam Form and Immunization Record Form.
- International students: blood tests (titer levels) showing immunity to the required immunizations must be attached/uploaded online under the Immunization Record Form.
Failure to comply with completing your Student Medical Record will result in a hold being placed on the student account. This means that the student would be unable to register for future classes and would not receive grades for the current session until this form is submitted. Please complete these records electronically via the PyraMED Student Health Portal or contact WellSpan Student Health if you have any questions
