About the Fund

The fund was established through an endowed gift from Timothy P. Kerner '87. A Distinguished Alumni Service Award recipient and 2025 Spartan of the Year, Kerner is president of Millennium Group and a former U.S. Army National Guard officer.

The fund was inspired by Kerner's own financial struggles as a York College student.

"I often struggled to pay for unplanned expenses while keeping up with classes and ROTC commitments," Kerner said. "I didn't want today's students to have to make the same difficult choices or risk their education because of an unexpected bill. This fund is one small way to give back to the place that gave me so much."
