College Launches Initiative to Foster Unity and Partnership Across All Employees
York College of Pennsylvania is proud to announce an initiative to foster employee unity and collaboration. As part of this effort, a new College Staff Advisory Council (CSAC) has been formed to enhance communication, share feedback and provide insight on ways to strengthen the employee experience.
York College President, Dr. Thomas Burns, emphasized that CSAC will support ongoing efforts to cultivate a collaborative and inclusive campus culture by encouraging open dialogue and addressing opportunities to improve workplace practices.
“Our campus community is full of dedicated colleagues who advance York College’s mission every day,” Dr. Burns said. “This council will help us share ideas and examine ways we can create an even more rewarding and productive work environment for all.”
CSAC’s role is to gather and present feedback from staff, offering the administration a better understanding of the broader campus experience and identifying ways to enhance it. The council includes members representing diverse roles across the College and will provide thoughtful recommendations as part of its advisory mission.
The inaugural council members, who volunteered or were nominated by their peers, include:
- Laura Burkey
- Elizabeth Burns Frey
- Lauren Bryant
- Joan Carpenter
- Vicki Clouser
- Kristy Daniel
- Matt Day
- Amy DeMay
- Kenneth Downey
- Chad Gleissl
- Jennifer Godfrey
- Brian Gross
- Allison Malachosky
- Elizabeth McGee
- Kim Fahle Peck
- Manning Smith
- Rebecca Soyke
- Christina Rivera
- Sueann Robbins
- Christopher Wickline
“If employees remain solely focused on their individual roles, broader campus issues can go unnoticed,” Dr. Burns noted. “By bringing together a variety of perspectives, we are building pathways for innovation and constructive feedback.”
The council convened its first meeting on November 1, where members outlined initial guidelines and planned upcoming goals. Moving forward, CSAC will meet monthly on the first Friday to continue its work.
