Sen. Bob Casey Visits York College to Discuss 'Greedflation' As Part of Panel
Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) visited York College on March 25 to host a press conference and discuss what he refers to as “greedflation.”
“This morning, I visited York College to discuss how big corporations are raising prices on American families while padding their own profits,” he wrote on X. “I call it greedflation and I’m fighting in Washington to stop corporations that are ripping off Pennsylvanians.”
Casey joined a panel that included retired York College Professor of Finance Ken Slaysman, Community Progress Council President/CEO Robin Rohrbaugh, and Stephanie Romero, Getting Ahead Coordinator at Community Progress Council. The discussion was moderated by Jeff Schiffman, WVYC Radio Station Manager and Lecturer in Communications at the College.
Casey was welcomed to the College by President Thomas Burns, who said, “We are delighted to host discussions like this. Part of the learning experience colleges offer to students is how to look at a topic, research it, and participate in civil conversations to share their own ideas. This was also an opportunity to see our legislators at work, bringing awareness to topics that are relevant to their constituents.”
“York College has produced many graduates that have shaped the history of our Commonwealth and will certainly produce its next generation of leaders, so I want to thank President Burns for welcoming me to campus and for the opportunity to shine light on a critical issue that’s impacting not just his students but many across Pennsylvania,” Sen. Casey said. “Ensuring the success of Pennsylvania’s students tomorrow must be our priority today.”
