Volleyball Recognized by the AVCA for Academic Excellence

The York College women's volleyball program earned a pair of American Volleyball Coaches Association academic awards as announced by the organization.

The Spartans earned the AVCA Team Academic Award while they were also selected as an AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll. The honor roll represents a program being in the top 20% of GPA's in each of the three NCAA Divisions. The AVCA Team Academic award, which began after the 1992-93 season, recognizes teams who attain a team GPA of 3.30 for the academic year.

The Spartans had a fantastic year in the classroom as they posted a 3.79 cumulative GPA for the 2023-24 academic year. The squad had a 3.79 fall GPA during their season while they continued the excellence in the spring with a 3.78 mark. The team earned the York College William DeMeester Academic award signifying the highest women's sport team GPA for the academic year.
 
The Spartans had 12 players on the team earn a GPA of 3.50 or above for the year

The Spartans kick off their 2024 campaign on Friday, August 30 when they travel west on Route 30 to take place in the two-day Gettysburg Battlefield Classic. The Spartans make their home debut on Tuesday, September 3 against Franklin & Marshall.
