Two York College alumni are being recognized with 2024 Showcasing YoCo awards by the York County Economic Alliance. They will be honored at an April 4 dinner.
Daysha Illarza ’16, a Sociology graduate, will be presented with the Ignite Young Professional Award. A York native, she currently works for the United Way of York County as the Community Impact and DEI Coordinator. She earned a master’s in social work degree from Widener University. Illarza is part of many community initiatives and collaboratives, including serving as Vice Chair of the York County Homeless Coalition, as a member of YWCA’s Racial Justice Committee, and as a York County Court Appointed Special Advocate.
Tony Campisi ’76 will be presented with the Business Achievement Award. He serves as chairman of Glatfelter Insurance Group and as president of the Glatfelter Foundation. Campisi is a trustee emeritus of York College and chairs the Center for Community Engagement Advisory Board. He previously served as a member of York College’s Collegiate Council. He served on the “A Time to Act” Campaign Steering Committee and was the 2011 recipient of the College’s Professional Leadership and Service Award. Most recently, Campisi cochaired EVOLVE: The Campaign for York College.
