York College Board of Trustees Member Kim Bracey to be Celebrated with Prestigious Fifty Over 50 Statewide Honor
York College of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Board of Trustees member Kim Bracey has been selected as an honoree for City and State PA’s prestigious Fifty Over 50 list for 2024.
The list recognizes 50 influential leaders across Pennsylvania who have contributed significantly in government, nonprofits and private business.
“It is indeed an honor. You think about the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, just the vast size of it, and all the people who do work daily to make Pennsylvania a better place. To be named in this category is truly humbling,” Bracey said.
Bracey joined York College’s Board of Trustees in 2018 after serving the public as the City of York’s Mayor for nearly eight years. She is now the Chief Executive Officer at YWCA York and works daily to grow outreach into the community.
“Coming out of the Covid pandemic, a lot has changed. Many places had to either shut down or change how their organizations run,” Bracey said. “So building back the YWCA’s visibility and continuing to empower survivors of violence, build gender and racial equity, and help York’s young people live up to their potential, that’s what I’m focused on now.”
Bracey has spent almost her entire life in York, with the exception of the 10 years she served in the United States Air Force. Bracey says helping create a better community day by day is her life’s passion.
“York College could not be more proud to have Kim Bracey on our Board of Trustees. Her passion for growth and leadership has been proven time and time again. No one deserves this honor more.” York College President Thomas Burns, Ph.D said of the honor.
The Fifty Over 50 honorees will be recognized at a celebration in Philadelphia on October 29th.
