York College of Pennsylvania Earns Top Marks in Latest U.S. News & World Report and TIME Rankings

Between steady enrollment growth, new campus upgrades, and a big push for hands-on learning, York College of Pennsylvania has a lot to celebrate, and national ranking lists are taking notice.
The college recently earned spots on the newest 2026–2027 best colleges lists from both U.S. News & World Report and TIME Magazine.
In the newly released U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, York College was named on the Regional Universities and Top Private Schools lists. The institution also secured strong national standing across several key academic disciplines and outcomes, including Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs, Nursing, Computer Science, and Top Performers on Social Mobility.
Adding to these accolades, York College of Pennsylvania was officially selected for TIME Magazine’s list of America’s Best Colleges for 2026–2027.
Together, these recognitions highlight major growth for York College, which welcomed its largest incoming freshman class in six years following a sustained, multi-year period of steady enrollment and revenue growth.
"These national recognitions serve as a powerful validation of the momentum taking place across our entire campus," said Dr. Thomas Burns, President of York College of Pennsylvania. "Our emphasis on hands-on, career-focused learning and our strategic investments in academic excellence show that York College is delivering exceptional value. We are proud to see our collective efforts, driven by dedicated faculty, staff, and students, recognized on such a prominent national stage."
The college's ongoing growth is matched by continuous physical investment in student life and infrastructure. York College recently opened a new wing of the Northside Commons residential complex, offering state-of-the-art living spaces designed to accommodate the growing student body. This project represents the first step in a broader capital vision, with $100 million in new campus projects planned over the next five to ten years.
"Reaching our highest incoming class in six years alongside steady year-over-year enrollment and revenue growth reflects the impact of a York College education," said Dr. Brian Hazlett, Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing. "Students and families recognize that York offers a distinctive blend of academics, practical real-world experience and internships, and a supportive community. These rankings reaffirm that our strategic vision is aligning perfectly with what modern students are looking for in a college home."
For current students, the national accolades simply confirm what they experience every day on campus.
“As an engineering student, these national rankings prove what I experience day in and day out in YCP's academic programs,” said Kirsten Nelson, Student Senate President. "My class projects, co-op experiences, and on-campus involvements have given me all the tools I need for success. Between the energy and growth on campus, I can't think of a better time to be a Spartan than now. Seeing these national publications recognize our campus community and student experience makes that even more meaningful.”
As York College continues to expand its facilities and academic offerings, the institution remains dedicated to fostering practical skills, social mobility, and strong career outcomes for every student.
