Accountants play a pivotal role, whether it’s planning a merger or acquisition, auditing a pension plan, or uncovering a fraudulent insurance scam. Our accounting majors take a full range of courses including taxation, ethics, auditing, law, and can select electives such as financial fraud, international accounting, government and not-for-profit accounting, and other special topics.

The minor in Accounting provides students with a theoretical understanding of accounting. This background is useful for students majoring in related fields such as Finance or Business Administration.

The Advertising & Digital Marketing minor allows students to explore the full range of the advertising process, including advertising theory, advertising strategy, ad copywriting, media planning, and ad production. Pursuing an Advertising & Digital Marketing minor is especially beneficial to students planning careers in advertising, public relations, or any area of marketing communication.

The Applied Economics, B.S. program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). 

This minor will provide broad-based knowledge of the unique challenges that a youth sports administrator or coach will encounter.  Students will gain knowledge and practice application and analysis of information as it relates to the following: child and adolescent development; principles of coaching; response to emergencies; risk management and prevention of injuries; and administration of youth sports.

This major sets you up for generalist managerial positions, which are needed in businesses around the world and won’t tie you down to one particular business function. You’ll benefit from studying in our highly-respected business administration program if you want to own/operate a small business, enter corporate management training programs, or perform analytical work and projects within an organization.

The Associate of Science degree with a major in Business Administration is viewed as the first step toward a baccalaureate degree in business. Courses in the associate degree program fulfill many of the core courses in the baccalaureate programs offered by the Graham School of Business.

The Business Administration minor provides non-business students with an opportunity to gain business skills that will supplement their major field of study. Non-business majors interested in pursuing an MBA would benefit by completing this minor as a foundation for most MBA programs.

York College’s bachelor’s in Business Analytics will prepare you to contribute to an organization in the industry of your choice. You’ll get hands-on experience working with statistical analysis, information technology, quantitative methods, and computer-based models to leverage data in real-world business settings.

The minor in Business Analytics is designed for students who want to develop quantitative skills to supplement their major and career fields. This minor would be especially advantageous to students interested in quantitative research, engineering, operations research, or computer science.

The Computer Science Minor is designed to augment the skills of students majoring in chemistry, mathematics, as well as those students outside of the Kinsley School of Engineering Science and Technology with inclination and strength in this area. Students can greatly broaden their post-graduate horizons through this minor, by adding computing facility to the proficiencies gained through their major program. A maximum of 9 credits from a student’s major can be used to fulfill the CS minor requirements.

The Continuous Improvement minor helps students develop business ready skills to eliminate wasteful and ‘non-value’ added activities in product and service process(es). Students will learn about the multiple tools and techniques commonly used in business(es) to improve quality through their engagement in real world projects. This minor prepares students for entry-level positions such as a quality supervisor, process analyst, continuous improvement supervisor. 

Cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing career fields in the country, and for good reason. The livelihood of today’s organizations — from private businesses to publicly traded companies, healthcare providers to government agencies — depends on their protection of digital information and prevention of cyberattacks.

In York College’s Cybersecurity Management program, you’ll combine your understanding of technology with skills in strategic communication and management. You’ll also develop insight into the origins of cyberthreat as you explore aspects of cybersecurity, including strategy, operational security, intelligence analysis, and criminal justice.

The Cybersecurity minor is designed for students who want data privacy and cybersecurity skills to supplement their major and/or career fields.  This minor would be especially advantageous to students interested in information security, operational decision-making, and/or business intelligence.

The Economics minor explores a broad range of economic phenomena, institutions, and policies. Designed for students from all majors, the Economics minor provides the foundation in economic analysis needed for careers in business, government, public service, and law. 

The Engineering Management major blends business management savvy with technological expertise, combining these desirable skills into one degree.

The Entrepreneurial Studies minor provides students with an understanding of the entrepreneurial process and key skills for success. This background will help students develop business ideas, evaluate business opportunities, and start and run a business. 

In York College's Entrepreneurship and Innovation degree program, you'll delve deep into entrepreneurial business dynamics while gaining hands-on experience in materializing innovative ideas and real-world business plans. This minor will provide broad-based knowledge and skills related to the unique opportunities and challenges a manager in the Esports industry will encounter.  Students will be able to study the industry from multiple perspectives and take part in relevant real-world experiences.

The Finance degree program builds skills for careers handling the financial decisions of individuals and businesses. At York, you'll join a vast network of experienced faculty, alumni, and industry leaders as you gain experience with professional facilities like the on-campus NASDAQ Trading Lab.

The Finance minor promotes financial literacy by providing a foundation of financial principles. Designed for students from all majors, the Finance minor teaches students how to analyze both professional and personal financial decisions. 

Minoring in financial management develops students’ ability to make strategic financial decisions.  Courses introduce the management of financial resources, portfolio management, and the global component of financial studies.  This minor is open to all Graduate students.  Fundamental knowledge of statistics and finance is required.

The Human Resource Management, B.B.A. program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). 

The Human Resource Management minor emphasizes the skills and abilities needed by professionals who work in human resource or training and development units of organizations. Topics covered in these courses include recruitment, selection, and training of human resources, employment law, and labor relations. A student declaring a Human Resource Management minor may not also declare a Management minor.
